Thoughtfully Designed Homes

Designed Around Real Life

Design Review

Reviewing architectural plans through the lens of interior architecture, functionality and everyday living.

Building or renovating a home is one of the biggest investments most families will ever make. This Design Review service is designed to help you identify missed opportunities, improve functionality and make confident decisions before construction begins.

With over 20 years of interior design experience, Louise reviews your plans through the lens of how a home is actually lived in — helping you create a home that works beautifully both now and for years to come.

Suitable For

Whether you are planning a new build, renovation, extension or self-build project, this service provides expert guidance before construction begins.

It is particularly valuable for homeowners seeking reassurance on important design decisions or an independent second opinion before committing to costly changes on site.

What We Can Review

Every project is different, but common discussion areas include room layouts, furniture planning, kitchen and utility design, storage requirements, bathroom layouts, lighting, electrical plans, circulation, family living requirements and future-proofing your home for the years ahead.

When To Book

Design Reviews can be carried out at any stage of a project, but the greatest value is often achieved before planning is submitted or construction begins. Early design input allows opportunities to be explored while changes are still easy to implement, helping you move forward with greater confidence.

What Is Included

Step 1

Submit Your Plans

Once booked, you'll receive a short questionnaire and instructions for uploading your plans, inspiration imagery and any questions you'd like reviewed.

Louise will assess everything in advance of the consultation, identifying opportunities, potential issues and areas that deserve further discussion.

Step 2

90-Minute Design Review

We meet online via Google Meet to review your plans together.

During this focused working session, we'll discuss layouts, functionality, furniture placement, storage, circulation, lighting, kitchen planning and the practical realities of how your home will be used day to day.

You'll have the opportunity to ask questions throughout and receive honest, independent feedback before construction begins.

Step 3

Receive Your Recommendations

Following the consultation, you'll receive marked-up PDF plans, a recording of the session and a written summary of the key recommendations discussed.

This gives you clear next steps, greater confidence in your decisions and a home that works beautifully both on paper and in practice.

Following the consultation you will receive

Design review consultation

Investment

€350

This includes a pre-consultation review of your plans, a 90-minute Design Review, marked-up PDF drawings, a consultation recording and a written summary of recommendations.

Whether you're working from architectural drawings, engineer's drawings or estate agent layouts, this review focuses on how your home will function in practice- ensuring room layouts, circulation, storage and everyday living have been fully considered before construction begins.

While reviews can be carried out at any stage, the greatest impact is often achieved before planning is submitted or construction begins, when changes are easier and more cost-effective to implement.

Optional Add-On

Lighting Review + €150

Lighting planning is one of the most common areas discussed during Design Reviews, helping homeowners avoid costly changes during construction and before first fix begins.

If you would like your proposed lighting and electrical layout reviewed as part of the Design Review, this can be added to your consultation.

We'll assess socket locations, switching arrangements, task lighting, feature lighting and how the scheme supports the way your home will be used day to day.

This review is intended to help identify opportunities and potential issues before first fix begins.

The Goal

The purpose of this review is not to redesign your home from scratch.

It is to ensure you move into construction with greater confidence, clearer priorities and a home that works as beautifully in practice as it does on paper.

The earlier we're involved, the greater the opportunity to influence how your home functions and feels to live in.
